At Attention with Chuck Sourbeer: Exciting Updates to our Historia Collection™

Go to previous page

I’m excited to announce a major refresh coming this year to the distinctive hotels in our Historia Collection™. In partnership with Lendlease, every one of our historical properties will be getting upgrades to guest rooms and common areas.

Historia Collection consists of select IHG Army Hotels housed in buildings of great significance to the Army, their posts and the nation. Because of their unique architecture and historical importance, they differ from any other IHG hotel brand, however, they offer the same amenities and conveniences as the branded on-post properties.

The new upgrades include improved breakfast offerings* and a coffee and tea service station available 24 hours a day. Guest rooms feature rich appointments including luxurious bedding and linens, plush signature robes, a Keurig coffee maker, and high-end toiletries. Finally, some locations will have a new outdoor lounge experience featuring vintage elements with a modern twist for you to relax, work, or just enjoy the outdoors.

These enhancements will be available by this fall at most locations. We look forward to offering you an even higher level of comfort and convenience in our Historia Collection hotels as we continue to preserve the architectural history that makes each hotel so unique. While the properties have been renovated to provide all the modern conveniences our guests have come to expect, we’ve been careful to preserve the historic character of the buildings, going so far as to include fixtures and furnishings that complement the buildings’ original designs. We hope you consider visiting one of these historical buildings the next time you stay on-post:

IHG® Army Hotels is proud to celebrate the Army’s heritage through the Historia Collection while offering our guests the higher rank of hospitality found in all our hotels. We hope to see you soon.
