The Ventana Wilderness area in Los Padres National Forest borders Fort Hunter Liggett and offers hiking trails, bike paths, and campgrounds perfect for Big Sur backcountry adventures.

Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield

The area also hosts spring farmers’ markets and outdoor festivals in nearby Cold Spring and Newburgh.

This premier vacation destination is home to the largest lake in Missouri, where fishing and boating are enjoyed by out-of-town visitors and local residents. Other springtime activities include golfing, horseback riding, and caving.


Parades, festivals, and community events make Lake of the Ozarks the place to be in the spring or any other time of the year.


 


TAMC/Fort Shafter
