Military Support

Helping Those Who Serve This Holiday Season

Go to previous page

The holidays are a time for family members to come together and celebrate the year. This year, however, looks a little different. But in typical IHG® Army Hotels spirit, we’re looking for new ways to continue to support our military family during the holiday season. Here are some ways you can give back too:

Veteran Owned Businesses

Now more than ever, small businesses are in need of our support. Often, veterans find solace in the transition to civilian life by opening a small business of their own. The leadership and work ethic they perfected during their time in the military can easily translate into successful entrepreneurship. Although this year has been extremely tough, these small businesses are taking the necessary steps to operate safely. This holiday season is a small reminder for all of us to shop local.

We highlighted several veteran-owned businesses last year that we recommend checking out, or to find a veteran-owned small business near you, visit www.veteranownedbusiness.com

Full Circle Home

The holidays are especially tough for families that are impacted by a deployment. Full Circle Home is a non-profit organization that connects deployed service members with their loved ones. Full Circle Home helps bridge the gap between service members and their loved ones by facilitating the process of sending holiday gifts and hand-written notes to their families at home. The gifts allow them to express their gratitude and recognize the sacrifices their families are making in their absence. This is both encouraging for those both at home and deployed, because the whole family is impacted.

Operation Homefront

The holiday season can be demanding on everyone, especially military families. Every year, Operation Homefront runs a Holiday Meals for Military campaign where they, along with their partners, donate meals to military families as a way of saying ‘thank you’ for the sacrifices they make for our country. Partnering with brands like Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Food Lion, Procter & Gamble and more, their 2019 efforts served meals to 15,853 families.

From all of us at IHG® Army Hotels, we wish you a safe and happy holiday!
