At IHG® Army Hotels, our commitment to providing a Higher Rank of Hospitality goes beyond offering an exceptional stay. It extends into the communities we are honored to serve. Every September, we join our global IHG Hotels & Resorts family in celebrating Giving for Good Month, a company-wide initiative dedicated to making a positive impact. For us, it’s particularly meaningful to give back to the military communities that are at the heart of everything we do.
This year, our hotel teams across the country came together in powerful and inspiring ways. From food drives and backpack donations to hygiene kit deliveries, each effort was made with care to support soldiers, veterans, military families, and even their four-legged companions.
Here are just a few of the ways that IHG Army Hotels gave back during Giving for Good Month 2025:
- At Joint Base Lewis-McChord, the Holiday Inn Express and Candlewood Suites teams hosted a Giving for Good blood drive and donated backpacks filled with school supplies to students in the local Clover Park School District.
- The team at Fort Bragg assembled and delivered hygiene kits to support local veterans experiencing homelessness or life challenges.
- At Fort Drum, colleagues collected donations and supplies for the Lewis County Humane Society, helping local animals in need.
- Team members at Joint Base San Antonio, volunteered at West Avenue Compassion’s food distribution event in partnership with the San Antonio Food Bank, assisting over 460 families by assembling and distributing groceries including meats, canned goods, produce, and more.
- In California, three IHG Army Hotels worked together to host a food drive benefiting the Veterans Transition Center of California.
- At Fort Jackson, hotel staff donated reclaimed linens to the local Veterinary Treatment Facility. Among the first “patients” to benefit? Tiger, a robotic animatronic training dog who appreciated the extra pillow fluffing, and fortunately, doesn't shed.
In addition to local hotel efforts, one of IHG Army Hotel’s proudest accomplishments was the continued partnership with Tunnel to Towers through the Annual Mission Challenge. With each of our hotels participating in fundraising efforts, we were able to raise $214,000 to support 17,500 Homeless Veterans through rehoming, professional support and workforce development.
To celebrate the collective effort, team members from across the country joined together in New York City for the annual T2T Run & Weekend. This event was able to serve and honor catastrophically disabled veterans, Gold Star Families, fallen first responders and homeless veterans. Every year, we’re proud to stand alongside Tunnel to Towers in their mission and grateful to every team member who helped make this impact possible.
Our corporate team also played a major role during Giving for Good Month. In Atlanta, they partnered with the Atlanta Community Food Bank to sort through 19,713 pounds of food donations, providing the equivalent of 16,427 meals for local families facing hunger. This powerful effort reflected our shared commitment to community service and teamwork.
As always, we are incredibly proud of the compassion and dedication shown by our teams across the country. Giving for Good Month is just one way we live out our mission, and we're honored to stand alongside our military guests, families, and communities all year long.
Thank you to every colleague who made a difference this September. Your efforts inspire us to keep giving on and off post.
