At IHG® Army Hotels, supporting the military community in our hotels and outside is always top of mind. With that in mind, here’s a quick list of some incredible discounts and resources available to military veterans, active-duty military and their families.

1. Retail Salute

This site’s sole purpose is to help military families find nationwide military discounts online and in store.  Coupons can be found for a wide range of goods and services, ranging from Costco to Nike to Starbucks. Those who are eligible can even save on vehicle purchases with brands like Chevrolet, KIA, and Harley Davidson.

Check out retailsalute.com to see how you can save.

2. ID.me

Similar to Retail Salute, this is another site that can help military members save on tons of big names in retail. Once they sign up, they’ll get access to discounts for literally hundreds of brands, including Adidas, Yeti, Ray-Ban, Bose, HelloFresh, Callaway, Total Wine and more.

Visit ID.me  for amazing coupons.

3. Blue Star Families

Founded in 2009 by military spouses, this is a great place for military families to find help and support from the communities around them. They can get in touch with book clubs, art centers, and library societies or keep their family’s minds and bodies active with free education resources and plenty of outdoor adventures. There are also useful links to financial assistance and healthcare resources.

Go to bluestarfam.org and see what support and activities are available to you.

4. Travel

Whether military families are visiting their service member on base or taking them for some much-deserved rest and relaxation, they should take advantage of the discounts and perks offered by many major airlines. Benefits range from discounts on flights to waived luggage fees, so veterans and active-duty service members should check to see which airline makes the most sense for their trip.

Great places to start are United, Delta, Alaska, Frontier, Hawaiian, Jet Blue, Southwest, and American Airlines.

5. Military OneSource

Created by the Department of Defense to help today’s military families, Military OneSource provides informative articles, financial resources, relocation support, as well as education and employment assistance.

They also offer free assistance to troops and their families 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 1-800-342-9647.

Their site is one of the most comprehensive resources on this list, so you’ll definitely want to check it out.

6. IHG® Careers

For military spouses and veterans considering a career in hospitality, IHG® is a great place to start.  Our global network of hotels means that there are huge opportunities to transfer locations during PCS, and we’ve been supporting military veterans in their transition to civilian employment for a number of years.

Visit our site to learn more and see if a career with IHG® might be right for you.

These are only a few of the resources available to military members and their families, but we hope you found them helpful. As always, active-duty service members and veterans can also save money on travel expenses by taking advantage of the special military rates offered at IHG® Hotels and Resorts. We hope to see you soon.
