Spring break is almost here, and it's time to start planning like a pro. From tropical beaches to mountain hiking and city fun, there's something for everyone in our top spring break destinations.


 


1. Old San Juan, Puerto Rico


Get to know a whole new culture and vibrant landscape in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico which features stunning architecture, rich history, and blue cobblestone streets. Stop by the San Juan National Historic Site, which includes Castillo San Felipe del Morro, San Juan Gate, Castillo San Cristóbal, and most of the city walls. You'll learn more about why Spain fiercely protected Puerto Rico and kept it under its control for nearly 400-years.

3. Washington, DC

Walk along the National Mall, make your way to the United States Botanic Garden, and stop at all your favorite Smithsonian properties, including the Military Museum of American History. Best of all, the Smithsonian Museums and properties are free to visit, including the National Zoo.

4. Salt Lake City, Utah


Escape to the mountains in Utah and spend your spring break hiking or chasing the last bits of snow on a ski run at a nearby resort. If you're headed into Salt Lake City, hop on trails at Little Cottonwood Canyon, the Salt Lake Valley, or Ensign Peak trail right downtown. Or just head straight to Utah Olympic Park to test your strength. Open year-round; the park offers Olympic-themed activities like bobsledding, ski jumping, luge, and more.

5. Columbia, South Carolina

If you have kids in tow, stop by EdVenture Children's Museum for hands-on learning, or Riverbanks Zoo and Garden.

6. Colorado Springs
